Eve Saves Oscar

Finally Eve has done it and graduated from Sailing School (inland waters level 2) and to prove it she managed 2 laps of the island single handed and saved Oscar into the bargin.

Sailing Adventure

On Australia Day 2007 we took the good ship 'Blue Tang' from her home port of St Kilda on an adventure across the high seas of Port Phillip Bay, up through Hobsons Bay, into the Yarra River to our final berth - Yarra Edge Marina.

Sadly a minor cyclone blew up (20-40 knots) and as a result we had no sleep and ended up leaving the boat insitu for several days (in fact the plan is to collect it tonight after work!)

The lovely butterflies

The butterfly enclosure at Melbourne Zoo is one of my favourite places, but getting these shots was a lot of work - the lens fogged up as soon as we entered the humid glasshouse and it took at least 10 mins before I get a shot!

Shoes in the trees

right outside the Bentley Bar on Crown Street there are a lot of shoes flicked up into the powerlines and the trees, I guess it is a university prank - I caught this shot and pushed the colour a little.

Westgate Park

I have always been fond of a bridge, this is a great bridge one of Melbourne's finest, and often best seen from the reclaimed park below where you can appreciate the snake like belly of the bridge as it winds above you.

The park features fresh water ponds and all sorts of bird life. In recent times they have also added some fab rock sculptures.
