NY webcams
I love webcams - and these ones are right in the heart of NYC
if you click on the streaming one you can even hear the current street noises!
there is also one from the giant christmas tree at the rockefeller centre

Ok I will admit that I found the link for this on 'the skinny' which the aptly named blog found on veer.com
Its kind of hard to describe 'The Lucky Ones' its part serial online movie, exploring game, part online experience - much like myst meets six feet under (with out the sex). each week a new series of short movies are released about each character - check it out

Wikipedia
chances are you have heard about 'wiki's' but really don't know what they are. Well the wiki concept is simple publish content and allow others to edit and make changes or additions.
The Wikipedia follows the same concept for an encyclopedia, lots of material but some has lots more material than other entries and if you are a subject matter expert - you can contribute...!

this has got to be an original, an artist who 'creates' with chewing gum, oh yum - art you can eat, or is that art that's been chewed? Still its amazing what he has done with the gum, he employes a team of chewers for each work.

Republican National Conference
I have only just realised the details of the current madness in New York, perhaps being in Australia we were spending more time looking at the tradgedy unfolding in Russia to have our media comment on politics gone mad.

The gist of it was that thousands of protestors were walking the streets (together with watchers, workers commuting home and tourists) they were rounded up by police, left handcuffed in buses for hours and in cells for upto 40 hours. Apparently at the direct orders of mayor Michael Bloomberg - disturbing thoughts.
I found this site - 'Axis of Eve' while reading about the protests, they sell a compelling range of underwear!

ego - not a dirty word
in fact this was not found originally online rather I picked up a copy of ego magazine at the Cargo bar down at melbournes docklands last week.
I love the constant desire in Australia to go forth and publish - most (like me) do the dough in search of artistic integrity (and invitations to groovy parties).
This is the inaugrual edition (read this is the first) and they have covered all the standards, food, wine, cocktails, bars, restaurants and fashion!
and it is worth noting that it is all beautifully shot!

The best site for digital photography
I love this site - so much information, and of course now I am absolutely determined to get myself a Nikon D70 (its only $2,299 in Australia). Outstanding reviews - you must check out the incredible levels of detail covered - quite extraordinary.
