Sand Castle Pix
The Sand Castle Comp was an amazing success again - in fact its been going on much longer than the club and while it is not an official Yacht Club event (it is organised by the very organised Merricks Beach Residents Association) and according to the trophy goes back to at least the early 1950's

Mother and Baby in the back yard

One of the nice things about Somers is the Koalas. They visit quite regularly - its less appealing at night as they get quite noisy but it is lovely when a mother and baby drop by.

Dawn at French Island

What a trip - a beautiful sail on Saturday, and a washing machine home on the Sunday with winds gusting well over 30 knots and seas above 2 metres it was HAIRY to say the least (good thing Rob decided to stay at home).
After nearly 3 hours of very hard going, Rav and I decided we had to make a run for the closest port (in fact anything to get out of the rough water), so we went to Warneet (cant recommend that place highly enough - great guys who made us a coffee and let us use the showers while the blood started to thaw..)
All up an amazing weekend.
